As most of you know, NBDC has grown from four offices to six offices, effective last November with the purchase of the National Bank of Stamford. Many of you have turned to this website for information about that merger, and we apologize for the lack of data. We are, however, in the midst of designing a brand new website, rather than settling for a mere update. We ask for your patience as this is developed.
We are happy to report that the merger has produced two new offices of NBDC to visit for your banking needs. Stamford and Roxbury are both attractive and busy offices, and they very much complement the NBDC service philosophy. Like the "old" NBDC, personnel in these offices are from the area and live by the same standards that all of our personnel provide.
If you need to contact the Stamford office, the number is 607-652-7545, and Evelyn Johns is the manager. The Roxbury office (607-326-4100) is managed by Teresa Hynes.
A reminder never hurts. Remember that NBDC is a well-run community bank that operates from sound banking practices, as opposed to the questionable practices of the mega institutional banks. Our mission is to lend to and support the people and businesses of Delaware County. We do not approve of and do not practice sub-prime lending. We are therefore not affected by the credit crisis that has figured so prominently in recent news.
We still have money to lend, and we are looking for some good borrowers to take advantage of that fact. We're now on the tail end of winter, and NBDC looks toward the real arrival of spring, and with it, some new offerings for mortgages, home improvement, automobile purchases and other warm weather financial activities. Stay tuned for details.
MAXChecking is gathering strength as people use the discount cards to take advantage of great savings in travel, shopping and even prescription drugs and eye glasses. If you haven't looked at your statement lately, see what kind of checking plan you're in, and come in to talk with us so we can make sure you've got a good fit.
Speaking of MAXChecking accounts, did you know that if you're a member of either MAXGold 50 Plus or MAXValue, you can enjoy a .50% discount on loan rates if you sign up for direct debit of loan payments from your NBDC account?
On January 10, Delaware Bancshares, the holding company for NBDC, paid a cash dividend of 54 cents per share to shareholders of record as of December 31, 2007.
Watch in the Walton office for a new permanent art display of paintings of Lyman Ogden, to complement the return of the original fair picture that has been on loan from the Walton Historical Society.
The NBDC Company Store is up and running in our lobbies, with all kinds of logo apparel and paraphernalia available for purchase order. Included are such items as golf shirts, jackets, hats, totes and umbrellas, among others.
